California SB 54 and SB 572

Our elected leaders have let us down again.

Proposition 8 became necessary as an initiative of the people because the California Legislature and Courts showed a consistent disregard for the people’s will. And late last night, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger again joined with the Legislature in dismissing the will of the people. Under the cover of darkness and at the eleventh hour before his constitutional deadline, Schwarzenegger signed Senate Bills (SB) 54 and 572 into law. It is apparent that “the people” must bring about the necessary reform, as many of our so-called representatives ignore us.

SB 54 mandates that all same-sex marriages that took place in other states or countries on or before November 5, 2008 will be legally recognized as marriages in California. Compare and contrast this new law with Article 1, Section 7.5 of the California Constitution, which you placed into law by voting for Prop 8: Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

SB 572 creates an annual day of commemoration – geared toward public schools and educational institutions – to celebrate Harvey Milk, the first openly homosexual person elected to office in a major city. You may remember that during the Prop 8 campaign those pushing for homosexual marriage proclaimed that school children would not be forced to learn about homosexuality and same-sex marriage. But now, every school district in California is encouraged to honor Harvey Milk specifically for his sexual orientation.

Governor Schwarzenegger, instead of acting on behalf of children and the vast majority of parents who want their children protected from indoctrination in the public schools, has instead folded his tent to the pressures of special-interest. After threatening to veto all of the bills on his desk if he could not reach consensus on the state’s water crisis, our governor decided that he couldn’t “beat them” so he “joined them.”

What are the good people of California to do? We are to continue in coalition, finding more and more like-minded citizens who will stand with us for the traditional family and the protection of children. We must prepare for the continued battle, influencing at the neighborhood level against legislation and special interest groups, and even our governor, to transform the make-up of our representative leadership.

Proposition 8’s success was a huge shot across the bow, throughout the United States, of what can be accomplished through strategic alliances. We know what can be done, and we will move forward, with your help. Please consider a contribution to the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund to help us continue the legal fight to preserve marriage as between one man and one woman.

'Nobel Peace Prize' is now officially a joke!

I used to actually think the "Nobel Peace Prize" actually meant something!

Clearly, it is more of a political thing than it is a "peace" thing.

45 years ago Martin Luther King (when the Nobel Peace Prize actually meant something) was given that recognition--I can see why! But Obama? Ridiculous! Obama 'ain't' no Martin Luther King!

Recently Al Gore got it for telling us the planet is hot! Wow, what a genius! What Al Gore forgets to mention is that his own electric bill is over $30,000 a year. I guess he's not so worried about global warming after all.

Neither am I though, as an "inconvenient truth" is a convenient lie!

Back to Mr. O

Peggy Noonan writes in the Wall Street Journal, "This is an award for not being George W. Bush". The Times of London has said the award to Obama was an obvious slap in the face of President Bush.

And what did Bush do to deserve the enmity of the Nobel Committee?

Ronald Kessler of Newsmax.com sets the record straight, George W. Bush "toppled a man who had killed 300,000 people and liberated 50 million people.

Because of Bush, Saddam's regime no longer inflicts torture on Iraqis by having electric prods attached to their genitals or by giving them acid baths. It no longer drills holes in their ankles and skulls. It no longer leaves them naked in refrigerators for days. It no longer cuts out their tongues and cuts off their ears. Nor does it force Iraqi men to watch gang rapes of their wives and sisters.

Because of Bush, Afghan women can now attend school. They are free to go out in public without being accompanied by a man. They are allowed to hold jobs.

Moreover, because of the $15 billion Bush sent to combat AIDS, deaths in Africa are down dramatically. For that reason, despite claims that America's moral standing in the world has eroded, Bush's approval rating in African countries has stood at 80 percent or higher.

Those are real accomplishments worthy of a Nobel Prize. In giving the award to Obama, the Nobel Committee's effort at burnishing the president's image backfired by highlighting the fact that he has accomplished nothing beyond delivering oratory."

Clearly, I am not alone in how I feel about this! Thankfully, people around the world, like this brave reporter: Barack Obama's peace prize starts a fight (watch very short video!) are pointing out the absurdity in the whole matter!

Many agree that" Obama's Nobel Prize Makes A Mockery Of the Award"

Obama Awarded Nobel Peace Prize??? For What???

I sure got a good little laugh, though, when Obama said about being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, “Let me be clear. I do not view it as recognition of my own accomplishments..."

And what exactly ARE those 'accomplishments' Mr. Obama?

Is Loyalty dead?

One of the qualities I most admire in someone, along with honesty and integrity is Loyalty!

But, as
Bill Keller points out below, loyalty is in short supply these days.

We can't change the world we can only change ourselves. The article below should remind us of the importance of loyalty and to be more conscious of living out a in our daily life. Our children will learn of it by seeing our example!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

By:
Bill Keller

From: LivePrayer.com

No more loyalty. One of the observations I've made over these past 40-some years is that loyalty has become a very rare commodity. Growing up, I was taught that being loyal was an important part of who you were as a person. Just like I was taught to always tell the truth, to help others, to be kind, being loyal was an important element in making up the fabric of a person's character.

The longer I live, the more I see loyalty missing in the character make-up of most people. Today, being loyal is not a component of who most people are. This has become a contributing factor to the breakdown of our society, but even more important, the breakdown in the lives of many who claim to know Jesus..

A great example of loyalty from God's Word is David's loyalty to King Saul, even when Saul was trying to kill him! Now that my friend is a tremendous test of your loyalty to someone. Will you still honor them, be loyal to them, even if they are trying to kill you? Sadly, this type of loyalty is very rare in today's world.

Men and women who are in relationships are no longer loyal to their boyfriend, girlfriend or other friends. They think nothing of cheating on someone they are in a committed relationship with. Sadly, this mentality carries over into marriage which is why you have husbands and wives without conscience committing adultery, not even thinking about or caring about the consequences of their sin and how many lives it will hurt and even destroy.

Because so many children grow up today in a variety of living arrangements, many in blended families, there is not even loyalty to those in your own family any longer. These children grow up without ever being taught the importance of loyalty and sadly have parents and step-parents who model behavior that demonstrates no loyalty to anyone. So it is no wonder why these children grow up never learning how to be loyal, even to those in their own family.

Of course, if people aren't loyal to their boyfriend, girlfriend or friends, to their spouse who they vowed loyalty to before each other and God for life, to their own family, it is no wonder why employees are no longer loyal to their employer, and likewise, employers are no longer loyal to their employees. 40 years ago a person would have 2-3 jobs in their lifetime. Now, they are likely to have 2-3 jobs before they get out of college and dozens more throughout their working life.

The real danger is, this lack of loyalty that exists in most people also carries over into their faith. I mean if you think about it, it only makes sense. If you aren't loyal to anyone in your earthly relationships, how can you expect to be loyal to the Lord in your spiritual relationship? Just like a person can without conscience go out and cheat on their wife, or betray a brother, or scheme against an employer or employee, that same person who has accepted Christ can turn their back on Him and willingly sin and live in rebellion to God's Word!

Listen to me carefully. If you aren't loyal to someone you are in a committed relationship with as a boyfriend or girlfriend or as a friend, if you aren't loyal to your spouse who you vowed loyalty to for life to, if you aren't loyal to your own flesh and blood, if you aren't loyal to the place you earn your living or the people who help you earn your living, WHY DO YOU THINK YOU WILL BE LOYAL TO JESUS???

Our failure in being loyal really boils down to one thing.....selfishness! We put ourselves above everyone else, including Jesus! The reason a person cheats on their boyfriend or girlfriend is that they are selfish. The reason a person cheats on their spouse is that they are selfish. The reason a person is not loyal to those in their family is that they are selfish. The reason a person is not loyal to their employer or employee is that they are selfish. The reason a person is not loyal to the Lord is that they are selfish. We aren't loyal because we are selfish!

Loyalty requires a commitment to someone or something other than ourselves. It often costs to be loyal. We want the benefits of a relationship, a marriage, having a family, our job, knowing Jesus, but we don't want to pay the price of having that relationship, being married, being part of a family, having a job, or our faith in Christ. We all can be loyal when things are going good, but the true test of loyalty is during times of trouble.

The disciples of Jesus were all loyal when great crowds came to hear Him preach, when He was sharing His wisdom, when He was healing people and raising the dead. But where were they when the Romans came to take him in the Garden of Gethsemane? Nowhere to be found. Running away in fear for their lives. Denying they even knew who He was.

I love you and care about you so much. My word for you today is simple. BE LOYAL! It is a lost human characteristic in most people's lives in the year 2009, but one that every follower of Jesus MUST HAVE! Being loyal is part of what being a follower of Christ is all about. We are to be loyal to the Lord and to our faith. The fact is, if we are loyal to the Lord then we will be loyal in other areas of our life as well. In our relationships, in our marriage, to our family, to our employer or employees.

I will be praying for you that God will open your heart to really hear these words today. I pray that you will do an assessment of your life and how loyal you are to your friends, to a boyfriend or girlfriend, to your spouse, to your family, to your employer or employees. Ask yourself if you are really a loyal person in your earthly relationships.

Finally, assess how loyal you are to Jesus and to your faith. Do you do your best each day to live in obedience to Christ and to His Word? As a follower of Jesus, are you loyal to Him even when things aren't going so well in your life? It is easy to be loyal when the blessings are flowing, but what about when you are in the midst of some major battles? Despite the challenges you face are you still loyal to the Lord?

When I think of Jesus, I think of loyalty. Jesus promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. Even when we turn our back on Him, Jesus is still there, loving us, watching over us, caring for us. That my friend is what being loyal is all about. May we follow the example of our Lord and be loyal in our life to others and to Him, as He is loyal to us!!!

In His love and service,'

Your friend and brother in Christ,

Bill Keller

What is REALLY the purpose??

What is the real purpose of the Obamacare health reform plan?

Make no mistake about it:

The purpose of this plan is to ensure dependence on government and a financial windfall for his cronies, including trial lawyers, and has nothing to do with concern about the cost of medical care or about the health or lives of American citizens.

11 Lies told to sell Obamacare -
Point and Counterpoint

By Dr. Frank S. Rosenbloom, M.D.

Mr. Barack Hussein Obama has gone back on the trail in an attempt to sell his health care reform to the nation. Mostly of the attendees that have been shown at these town hall meetings are hand-picked and sympathetic.

Mr. Barack Hussein Obama continues to repeat the same falsehoods regarding health care reform, each needs to be addressed specifically. I hope to address more in the future.

1. We need health care reform.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] We do not need health care reform. We have the best health care system in the world. We need health insurance reform.

2. Free market health insurance has caused our current problem.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] It is the government that has caused the current problem. We have not had free market health insurance in this country since 1965. [Since the de facto coup d’etat of the US Government with the Kennedy Assassination by the Rockefellers, Rothschilds / Federal Reserve owners, and the Johnson War on Poverty ] It is not possible to consider our system of medical payment free market when the government controls $.60 of every dollar spent on health care.

3. The evil and greedy health insurance companies have caused prices to
skyrocket.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] Again, it's the government that has caused prices to skyrocket. Medicare and Medicaid are the 800 pound gorilla and insurance companies are the fleas on the gorilla. Nothing can be done by private insurance companies, that hasn’t been done by Medicare and Medicaid. The federal government opens the door and the private insurance companies follow. It is the [ intentional ] government manipulation of the free market, that has caused our current health insurance problem. The out of control medical costs in Britain and Canada , as well as in Massachusetts and other states that have tried government health care, prove this point.

4. Nearly 50 million Americans are without health care.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] Nearly 13 million Americans are without health insurance. No one in the United States is without health care. Government regulations prohibit patients from being turned away from hospitals, which must provide medical care to anyone. The huge number that the Obama administration has used is highly inflated.

5. A government option will lower costs and improve quality of care.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] A government option will increase costs and reduce quality of care. In every instance so far government involvement in medical services has caused prices to increase. Medicare spending has increased at a rate greater than 10 times that which was projected. Medicare and Medicaid will be broke in less than nine years. Adding another entitlement program will cause economic disaster. The Congressional Office of Management and Budget has stated that the president's plan is unaffordable. Further, the necessary rationing in order to even begin the program will reduce quality of care.

6. If you like your insurance and your doctor you can keep them.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] The same things were said at the inception of Medicare. Medicare was supposed to be a supplemental insurance plan for retired people. It now covers the disabled as well and those over the age of 65, who are now ineligible for any other type of primary medical insurance. The government option will become the only option. Therefore, it's not an option and in the end hospitals, doctors, and all health care companies will be working directly and only for the government.

7. Government medical insurance is more cost efficient.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] Government medical insurance is less efficient. The government, by force of law, transfers administrative costs to the private sector. Hospitals and doctors' offices must assume the burden of administration under threat of criminal penalty. This unfunded administrative burden transferred to private individuals and private insurance is then added to the cost of the supposedly free-market healthcare system.

8. The government option is necessary in order to prevent loss of insurance
by individuals with medical problems.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] Government regulations make it mandatory for hospitals to treat patients regardless of their ability to pay. The government can certainly pass a simple regulation making it illegal for medical insurance plans to be canceled due to illness on the part of the insured. This would be a simple solution but of course would not increase government control over our lives.

9. The government option would ensure treatment for sick individuals who would otherwise have lost health care insurance. It would prevent lifetime limits on medical care.

ANSWER: This is blatantly untrue. There are definitive limits to Medicare that are not being publicized. For example, a review of Medicare regulations shows it will pay up to a maximum of 90 days in the hospital for each medical incident. After that, a patient must be in a rehabilitation facility for 60 days in a row in order for Medicare to begin another cycle of payment. Similarly, there are limits on most other Medicare services. While private medical insurance may have a total lifetime limit on the amount that can be spent, there is almost never a limit on the number of days in the hospital.

10. A government option will not result in rationing.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] The major government options already in existence employ rationing every day. Prohibitively difficult preauthorization, statements of medical necessity, convoluted and complicated paperwork, and often impossible to meet requirements result in rationing on a huge scale. Furthermore, delay in payment, denial of payment for services already rendered and other tactics reduce access to medical care on a widespread basis. The government may not call this rationing but it is an insidious form of rationing that will be an integral part of any government plan. Medicare misuses and abuses its funding and is guilty of literally stealing from hospitals and physicians.

As an example of this thievery, due to a change in the corporate status of my practice I was required to apply for a new national provider identification number (NPI) in March of this year. Within several weeks, without exception, all of the private insurance companies had registered the number and were paying on claims. After five months and exhaustive work of over 140 hours by my office staff Medicare and Medicaid had still not paid on a single claim. Finally, on August 14, Medicare made their first payment on claims that were five months old. Yet, if we do not build Medicare within three months of the date of service, Medicare will not pay us at all. Government regulation and control permeates the entire medical system.

11. A government option will simplify the payment for medical services.

ANSWER: [ This is a Lie ] The government has always made things more complicated and expensive. This is part of their rationing system. The government has a habit of requiring new provider numbers every couple of years that must be used for all claims, including private insurance claims. When these are instituted, payment can be delayed for as long as six months. To see how "simple" the federal government makes medical claims, what follows are my required identification numbers.

UPIN # G16766
OMAP # 079496
Medicare # R0000BLCGY (PTAN) OLD
Medicare # R1473 04
(PTAN) **NEW** R147303
Railroad Medicare # 110162014
NEW Tax ID # 264520277
OLD Tax ID # 911768627
DEA # BRxxxxxxx (Hidden to prevent use)
Clia # 38D0933946
NPI # 1306924691 (individual)
NPI Group # 1235371485

Every point Mr. Barack Hussein Obama has made regarding his health plan is either a gross misrepresentation or an outright lie. The purpose of this plan is to ensure dependence on government and a financial windfall for his cronies, including trial lawyers, and has nothing to do with concern about the cost of medical care or about the health or lives of American citizens.

Thousands march in D.C. to protest Obama spending

People EVERYWHERE are finally WAKING UP and seeing Obama for the liar that he is! They are seeing through Obama's lies about his terrible so-called health reform plan!

Nafeesa Syeed - Associated Press Writer - 9/12/2009 2:40:00 PM

WASHINGTON - Tens of thousands of protesters fed up with government spending marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, showing their disdain for the president's health care plan with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" and "I'm not your ATM."

The line of protesters clogged several blocks near capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Demonstrators chanted "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.

Throngs of people waved U.S. flags and held signs reading "Go Green Recycle Congress" and "I'm Not Your ATM." Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" - Election Day 2010.

Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Paw Paw, Mich. He said health care needs to be reformed _ but not according to President Barack Obama's plan.

"My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It's going to cost too much money that we don't have," he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a "March on Washington."

Organizers say they built on momentum from the April "tea party" demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.

Armey and other speakers directed their ire at Pelosi - Armey took a photo, telling the crowd he wanted to be able to prove to her they were there.

"If it's necessary, we'll come back here next year," he said.

Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event - an ethic they believe should be applied to the government. They say unchecked spending on things like a government-run health insurance option could increase inflation and lead to economic ruin.

Terri Hall, 45, of Starke, Fla., said she felt compelled to become political for the first time this year because she was upset by government spending.

"Our government has lost sight of the powers they were granted," she said. She added that the deficit spending was out of control, and said she thought it was putting the country at risk.

Race also became an issue when a black Republican leader denounced African-American politicians that she said had an "affinity" for socialism.

"I'm outraged prominent black politicians use the race card" to cover up their failed policies, said Deneen Borelli.

Lawmakers also supported the rally. Rep. Mike Pence, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said Americans want health care reform but they don't want a government takeover.

"Republicans, Democrats and independents are stepping up and demanding we put our fiscal house in order," Pence, of Indiana, told The Associated Press.

"I think the overriding message after years of borrowing, spending and bailouts is enough is enough."

Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., and Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., also spoke at the rally. DeMint said he'd had enough of "Alice in Wonderland" politicians promising more programs at the risk of financial disaster.

"The president has warned us if we disagree with him he's going to call us out," DeMint said. "Well, Mr. President, we are out."

Norman Kennedy, 64, of Charleston, S.C., said he wants to send a message to federal lawmakers that America is "deeply in debt." He said though he'd like everyone to have free health care, he said there's no money to pay for it.

"We want change and we're going to get change," Kennedy said. "I want to see fiscal responsibility and if that means changing Congress that will be a means to that end."

Other sponsors of the rally include the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform and the Ayn Rand Center for Individuals Rights. Other scheduled speakers included actor Stephen Baldwin and C. Boyden Gray, who worked under the administration of George H.W. Bush.

Actual Court Statements--LOL!

Court Statements

Need a good laugh!?

This is hilarious and remember, most of our politicians are attorneys.

These are from a book called "Disorder in the American Courts", and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNES S : All of them.. The live ones put up too much of a fight.

ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?
WITNESS: Oral.
_________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.
___________________________________________

ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question?
_____________________________________

And the best for last:

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

Jesus the socialist?

I don't know about you, but if you have at all being vocal about your opposition to government run healthcare, then you have probably experienced something similar.

Some very vocal yet highly ignorant individuals have approached me with the line that I was not being Christ-like because I was supporting denying people their health care. They went on to say, among other things (clearly revealing their lack of knowledge of the facts)
"Isn’t caring for our less fortunate brothers and sisters a Christian value?"

Excuse my while I vomit, will you. Since when do YOU know ANYTHING about Christian values? How conveniently to constantly deny Christ and mock Christians and yet, you hypocrite, have no doubt spewing out nonsense claiming to know that government run health care is the solution!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jesus the socialist?

Peter Heck - Guest Columnist - 9/1/2009 8:55:00 AM

Peter HeckAt a recent Congressional town hall meeting I attended, I was astounded by the positions being taken by the outnumbered group of advocates for socializing American medicine.

The Founding Fathers – a group whose distrust and skepticism about the size and scope of the national government is epic – were surely doing back flips in their graves as seemingly intelligent Americans willfully stood up and championed the notion of handing over their healthcare to bureaucrats in Washington. Regardless of your political leanings, it was a chilling sight to see a group of citizens standing and applauding the loss of their own freedom.

But more bizarre than that was a sign that had been placed on a pro-ObamaCare table near the front of the stage. It simply read: "Jesus would vote yes."

Now, I should preface these remarks by acknowledging the possibility that I misunderstood the sign. A listener to my radio show suggested to me that perhaps "Jesus" -- pronounced "Hay-Soos" in Spanish -- was referring to an illegal immigrant who would undoubtedly vote in favor of a plan guaranteed to further saddle American taxpayers with the burden of paying for those unwilling to obey the law. But with as thoughtful as that insight is, given all the recent attention the left has been showing Jesus the Savior recently, I think it's fair to assume the Son of God was the intended reference.

There are a couple initial observations that need to be made before we address the core, "Jesus as socialist" madness. First, for a movement so petrified by any perceived confluence of faith and politics, the left has kicked the Bible-banging into high gear recently.

Liberal talker Ed Schultz called socializing healthcare a "moral obligation" and said Christian ministers "should be leading their congregations to support this president on healthcare reform." What?! I thought we weren't allowed to "legislate morality?" And haven't folks like Schultz been telling ministers for years to avoid politics in the pulpit, lest they violate the sacred "separation of church and state" doctrine?

But even President Obama got into the act. Convening a group of ministers on a conference call, the president told them that his healthcare plans accomplish the "core moral and ethical obligation that we look out for one another...that I am my brother's keeper, my sister's keeper." He went so far as to suggest those who resist his plans are "bearing false witness" against him. Thou shalt not oppose thy Obama.

Frankly, I welcome this discussion. It is important to be conscious of what Jesus would do, and it's encouraging that even those on the left who reject his teachings and commands at least acknowledge his character and testimony. But all of us should tread very lightly when it comes to putting words into Jesus' mouth. No matter how long and close of a relationship with Christ one has, we should be beyond cautious (and painfully aware of our own fallibility) when it comes to any attempt to speak for Jesus beyond the plain words of scripture. When in doubt, let the red letters speak for themselves.

For that reason, it has never been my contention that Jesus would have opposed a socialized healthcare bill in the United States. That certainly doesn't mean he would have supported it; rather, that the ministry of Christ was undeniably focused on the individual – our personal responsibilities, not the duties of civil government.

To take those personal commands and extrapolate outward until you encompass a government mandate is the height of irresponsibility and demonstrates contempt for the sanctity of scripture.

Ed Schultz went on to state: "When Jesus walked the face of the earth, he was feeding the hungry, he was clothing the poor, and healing the sick. He didn't ask anyone for their health insurance card. And he didn't heal anybody for profit." Well, that's true. But for the sake of making a political push, Schultz is utterly distorting Christ's work.

First, Jesus performed his miracles of feeding the 5,000 and healing the lepers to foster belief in his claim to be the Son of God. Second, he performed such acts to model personal compassion for us. If Jesus was really teaching that taking profit for one's work is evil, we all have some serious problems...including Ed Schultz. Schultz gets paid nice money for enlightening those who gather to hear him speak. But Jesus never took a penny for his teaching. By Schultz's logic, apparently the only profession that can rightly charge for their work is carpentry.

This torturing of the text is exactly what happens when we let our politics inform our faith, rather than the other way around.

Here's what we can know: Jesus commanded his followers to "do for the least of these." He commanded us as individuals to be generous, giving, compassionate, and charitable. What remains for us to decide is whether turning over those personal responsibilities and making them the domain of the federal government is the best way to fulfill them. If experience is any guide, the answer to that question is incontrovertibly, "no."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there you go, perfectly said, it is OUR personal responsibility as individuals to care for one another and not shrugging off that responsibilty to the government.

The church used to be the place where people looked to get help--putting the responsibility of caring for one another on the people as individuals in the Church.

When the government takes over, why should anyone do anything, after all, the gov't will take care of them, right?

Take care of them how? Well, through general relief, welfare, foodstamps, section 8 housing, etc. Everyone knows what an utter failure those programs are at wasting money and creating dependant people, and crippling them to ever want to do anything for themselves. These programs should be temporary bridges of help, not permanent solutions.

And now healthcare is going to be added to the list above? I can see the lines now of people wanting "free healthcare" for anything and anything even a stubbed toe, because " Hey, I don't have to pay for it", Doctors leaving medicine- fed up of all the government bureacracy, simple procedures having to go through all their protocols to get "approved" by the government, long waits for everything like in other countries with socialized medicine. Yes, Good times, good times!

Leaked paper reveals plan to cut surgeries through socialized medicine!

Here is a foreshadow of things to come if this "ObamaCare" plan gets passed written by Dr. Douglass.

Of course, Obama denies it!

Well, (sarcastically) that satisfies me after all Obama is just so honest!

I just can't believe how ignorant some people are to believe that through socialized medicine everyone will be taken care of by the gov't. With a trillion dollar deficit, do you really think Obama is going to care about little old aunt telly's heart surgery, wake up!

There is no doubt at this point that Obama supports abortion, well euthanasia is just the other side of that deadly coin!

If aunt telly is gone (dead), then the gov't not only saved money by not having "approved" the surgery, but now they are saving on not having to pay aunt telly her social security check each month.

Yes, it is heartless and mean, but look into the horror stories of Canada and the United Kingdom that the MSM (mainstream media) will not tell you. You can google and put some faces to the tragedies of a govt that cares more about money than human life.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Preside
nt Obama has implied that under his healthcare plan, medical decisions wouldn't be made on the basis of cost. Yet up in Canada, a country already living in the "utopian" world of socialized medicine, health authorities are now considering cutting over 6,000 planned operations scheduled for this year.

According to a leaked document from the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, in order to make up for a $200 million budget deficit, the organization is considering cutting over 6,000 surgeries and closing over 25 percent of its operating rooms (after all, if you're canceling surgeries, what do you need the operating rooms for?).

Spokeswoman Anna Marie D'Angelo confirmed that the document is the real deal, but tried to douse the fire by reassuring the public that it was only a "planning document."

So anyone on a waiting list for neurosurgery, vascular surgery, ophthalmology, or any of 11 other critical surgeries can rest assured that their health authorities are only "considering" forcing surgeons to hang up their scalpels.

Don't you feel better now?

The president of the BC Medical Association, Dr. Brian Brodie, said, "Why would you begin your cost-cutting measures on medically necessary surgery? I can't think of a worse place."

He called the plan a "nightmare."

I couldn't agree more.

Feeling anti-social toward socialized medicine,

Healthcare struggle is about freedom

Star Parker is a woman to be admired. She is always right on target in speaking about Obama's policies and now this awful, healthcare reform.

By the way, she is a beautiful woman of color as are many, many other people speaking out AGAINST socialized medicine.

I myself am of hispanic descent and I am against this so-called healthcare reform.

So much for calling people against the dangerous Obamacare racists!

Healthcare struggle is about freedom

by: Star Parker

President Obama took his case for what he now calls "health insurance reform" to the faith community. He made his pitch in a phone call, also broadcast over the Internet, to clergy who called in and logged on from around the nation.

In his remarks, the President ticked off points of contention that dissenters have with his proposals -- "government takeover of healthcare...government funding of abortion...death panels" -- and dismissed these concerns as "fabrications." In one swipe, Mr. Obama reduced his opposition to liars.

And why, according to the president, are dissenters supposedly making all this stuff up? Because, he told his audience, they want to "discourage people from meeting...a core ethical and moral obligation...that we look out for one another...that I am my brother's keeper..."

So those whose fight for individual freedom are immoral, and our moral champions are those who want to extend the heavy hand of government.

Forgive me if sermons about morality are a little hard to swallow from a man who supports partial-birth abortion, who just announced his intent to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act.

And who really wants to obstruct moral behavior?

About 100,000 Americans participate in private, voluntary Christian communities that take care of their own healthcare independently of government and insurance companies. They are called health-sharing ministries.

These communities assess members "shares," based on family size, which are paid monthly, in addition to annual dues.

Those in the community who need care submit their claims to a central office, which sends members monthly bulletins informing them whose care their monthly payment will be covering.

No government. No insurance companies. It's healthcare with a true human face, operating in freedom, where those paying know who they are paying for and for what.

In addition to sending funds to cover costs, they send notes and pray for the sick person whose costs they are covering.

You wouldn't think that communities that embody the very essence of personal responsibility and Christian love would need lobbyists for their protection. But they do.

If Barack Obama has his way, they'll be out of business.

Part of the thousand-page healthcare bill mandates that individuals buy insurance and that companies provide it, or pay a fine. These government mandates to buy and provide insurance would make health-sharing ministries, where communities of individuals pool their personal funds to take care of each other, unviable.

These ministries share pooled funds of around $80 million dollars annually to take care of each other, driven only by guidelines of biblical principles to "Bear one another's burden, and thus fulfill the law of Christ."

It's crazy that Christian Americans have to lobby to be free in their own country.

Health-sharing ministries is one particularly beautiful example of how faithful Americans take care of themselves when allowed to be free. But there are many others.

In thousands of homeless shelters around the country, charitable Americans provide complete healthcare for the homeless. There are 5,000 crisis pregnancy centers, financed privately by charitable Americans that provide free care for pregnant women.

Many creative ideas have been put forth on how American healthcare delivery can be dramatically improved if markets are allowed to work. John Mackey, chairman of Whole Foods, listed eight in a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed.

In another Wall Street Journal column, a University of Chicago Business School professor explained how forward purchases of insurance could deal with the problem of pre-existing conditions.

But, Barack Obama and congressional Democrats have slammed the door on all this. They only want to hear about more government. Not less.

The problem isn't that dissenting Americans are immoral. It's that Democratic leadership has a problem with individual freedom.

healthcare reform and a wicked generation!!

Paul Demko wrote the article attached below insulting several women in government for speaking truth and making fun of Michele Bachmann for daring to suggest prayer and fasting to prevent socialized medicine!

I wonder what someone with his ignorant beliefs would say of the history of our nation and how "prayer and fasting" played a role.

Little unkown facts like the pilgrims who first arrived on what later became the United Sates fasted on a regular basis. What followed after their fasts was a time of great freedom and prosperity in the soon to be land of the free and home of the brave!

Some may call that a coincidence! O ye of little faith! It is a wicked generation that needs to see to believe-- no Faith!

A wicked generation that has no problems mocking God, destroying marriage, cheating on spouses, neglecting children and family, giving in to masturbation, participating in fornication and homosexuality, viewing pornography, all the while sacrificing their babies on the altar of "freedom" and "choice".

Indeed, we are living in wicked times.

With a president who sees nothing wrong with killing our babies in the safety of their mommies womb and trying to destroy DOMA and the protection of marriage as he caters to the gay activists. All the while trying to shove socialized medicine down our throats that will put the most vulnerable at risk of DEATH and bankrupt the nation--

Have you any doubt we are living in the last days?

Turning to God is our only hope, indeed his grace and mercy has always been our only true hope!

Michele Bachmann said it right, we must pray and fast! God bless her for her courage!

I am in my own season of prayer and fasting, maybe you can join me.

I am keeping an online journal to hopefully encourage others to do the same: http://my-40-day-fast.blogspot.com/

The defeat of the healthcare reform is on my prayer list. Will you pray with me?

If you are reading this, please pray and fast for your future, your children, our nation and each other! Fasting is an incredibly powerful spiritual weapon!

Remember, when you pray, God gets your attention, but when you fast and pray, YOU get God's attention!

God bless you! --Marisela

Bachmann: Prayer and fasting will help defeat health care reform

By PAUL DEMKO 8/24/09 4:35 PM

On Wednesday Rep. Michele Bachmann was part of a star-studded “teletownhall” meeting to discuss health-care reform. The event, billed “Keeping Faith with the Unborn,” was sponsored by the Susan B. Anthony List, an anti-abortion advocacy group. The organization’s president, Marjorie Dannenfelser, claimed that there were some 350,000 listeners on the line.

Bachmann was joined by North Carolina Rep. Virginia Foxx, most famous for calling Matthew Shepard’s murder was a “hoax,” and former Colorado Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, who made national headlines by refusing to concede after losing her re-election contest November. But even with such veteran political pugilists sharing the phone line, Bachmann managed to distinguish herself during the 90-minute phone call.

The 6th district Republican quoted the late British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, attacked Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius for receiving political contributions from a medical doctor who was murdered in May, and called on everyone to get down on their knees and pray that health care reform fails. Bachmann didn’t always make sense, but she undoubtedly scared the living daylights out of anyone on the line.

Bachmann repeated the myth, adopted early by Sarah Palin, that the health-care plans being debated in Congress would set up “death panels” to determine which old folks are entitled to health care. “Thank God that Sarah Palin said that,” she told the callers. “These are true.”

In response to a caller from Minnesota who wanted to know if there was a plan afoot in Washington to require all medical doctors to perform abortions, Bachmann didn’t exactly shoot the suggestion down.

“Unless we explicitly restrict these items, I think we can fully expect that these radical pro-abortion individuals could very likely make those decisions,” she told the caller. “All of us who have labored tirelessly in the pro-life cause for years and years and years, we know what these people are capable of. That’s why they have to be tied down by restrictions explicitly in law.”

She also suggested that it might be some kind of religious destiny that hardy souls such as herself are in Congress at this time.

“We all need to consider that in God’s timing that he may have allowed us, as members of Congress, to be in the position that we’re in just for this specific issue right now,” she said. “Everything that all of us have worked together and labored for over the years, all of it could be undermined with this one bill. President Obama realizes that. The radicals that are on the pro-abortion left, they realize that. They could win it all. And the unborn, and the vulnerable, the disabled and those at the end of life could lose it it all.”

But it was Bachmann’s fervent call to utilize prayer and fasting to beat back health-care reform efforts that was the true highlight of the call.

“That’s really where this battle will be won — on our knees in prayer and fasting,” she told the listeners. “Remember: faith without works is dead. So we’re asking you to do all of it: pray, fast, believe, trust the Lord, but also act.”

Who Am I ??

Try and Guess Who I am:
I was born in one country, raised in another.

My father was born in another country. I was not his only child. He fathered several children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me. My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name. My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs & didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them. That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40's.

They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything. That reinforced my conceit.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy. I was very critical of my country in the last war and seized every opportunity to bash my country.

But what launched my rise to national prominence was my views on the country's economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better and every poor person would be fed & housed for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess. It was the free market, banks & corporations. I decided to start making citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.

I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to all people. I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics & was able to gain widespread popular support.

I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we could change our country and the world..

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities" like the Jews. My true views were not widely known and I needed to keep them unknown, until after I became my nation's leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with.

I'm glad they didn't. Then I became the most powerful man in the world. And the world learned the truth.

WHO WERE YOU THINKING OF?

Obama?

Scary isn't it?

Quote from 1944

47 Million Can’t Get Health Insurance--FALSE!!

One of the most frequently recited distortions from President Obama is his claim that we have a health care crisis where 47 million Americans can’t get health care coverage! FALSE!

It is a myth that 47 million Americans can’t get health insurance! The Employees Policies Institute has published a report that shows that of this 47 million:

18 million who can afford medical insurance but don't want it.

8.4 million between the ages of 18 and 25 who think they are invulnerable.

8 million children who qualify for coverage under some program but haven't been signed up.

3.5 million adults who qualify for a government program but who have not signed up.

12.6 million illegal aliens who are not supposed to be here.

9.4 million who are in between jobs and only temporarily uninsured.

This report clearly shows that there is really no health care insurance crisis! Yet, Congress is being rushed to pass legislation based on false information!

Health Insurance companies vs. Government Health Care

More than half the population now fear government health care more than they do the insurance companies.

It has been thought that public hatred of insurance companies is the main source of support for increased government involvement in health care. But now people seem to be realizing that the real reason to hate the insurance companies is because of . . .

The United States of Corporate Welfare

Big health care interests have used the coercive power of government to erect thickets of Corporate Welfare Regulation, to reward themselves, punish their competitors, and harm consumers. Read more: Downsize D.C.

Cato Institute scholar Michael Tanner provides startling examples of how these regulations have strangled competition between health insurance companies, allowing 30% of the market to be controlled by just 1 company in 299 out of 313 of the largest metro areas. Read more: ObamaCare KILLS healthy competition

So the problem isn’t that insurance companies charge too much and pay out too little under free market conditions. Indeed, the profit margins of the health insurance industry rank only 86th among American industries!

Instead, the problem is that government regulations retard competition and consumer choice, leading to inefficient service and false prices.

We don’t need a 2,000-page bill that re-engineers our entire health care system. Instead, the first thing we need is a 1-page bill that restores competition between insurance companies by allowing you to sidestep the corporate welfare regulations erected by state-governments.

This is something the federal government can do using its Constitutional authority under the Commerce Clause.

Here is a real doctor who practices medicine TODAY telling us simply what government-controlled healthcare will mean for EVERYONE: Doctor tells all about the reality of ObamaCare

ObamaCare Kills Health Competition

By MICHAEL TANNER

August 13, 2009

PRESIDENT Obama has repeatedly said that one of his "reform" goals is to increase "competition and choice" in the US health-care system -- but the policies he's pursuing would actually reduce competition and give consumers fewer choices. Meanwhile, he's ignoring reforms that would bring more choices and competition.

The nation now has some 1,300 insurance companies, but most consumers actually have far fewer choices. An American Medical Association survey found that in 299 of 313 largest metro areas, one insurer controls at least 30 percent of the market.

In New York, just two insurers, GHI and Empire Blue Cross, represent 47 percent of the market. In New Jersey, a single insurer, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield, controls 43 percent of the market. And in Connecticut, Wellpoint holds an astounding 55 percent.

There's nothing inherently wrong with one company earning a large market share, but the lack of significant competition helps contribute to higher insurance costs and poorer service. Moreover, this market concentration hasn't necessarily flowed from consumer preference in a free market, but results in good part from barriers to entry erected by state insurance regulation.

Obama's answer to this problem is to set up a new government-run insurance plan to compete with private insurers. But such a plan will ultimately result in less competition, not more.

A government-run plan would have an inherent advantage in the marketplace, because it ultimately would be subsidized by taxpayers. The government plan could keep its premiums artificially low or offer extra benefits, because it could turn to taxpayers to cover any shortfalls.

Plus, the government plan also could use its market power to impose much lower reimbursement rates on doctors and hospitals -- Medicare and Medicaid do that now, to the point where they often pay less than cost. Providers would be forced to recoup the income lost thanks to the "public option" by raising what they charge to private insurance -- driving up premiums and making private insurance even less competitive.

In the end, the private-insurance market would be eviscerated, leaving millions of Americans with no choice but the government-run program. No choice. No competition.

To truly create more choice and competition, Obama should tear down the regulatory barriers to choice by letting people buy insurance from states other than the one in which they live.

Though few realize it, it's illegal to purchase health insurance across state lines. This effectively creates insurance cartels in each state.

Tear down this barrier to interstate commerce, and you'd instantly increase competition. If someone in New York or New Jersey is unhappy with the insurance choices available in that state, he or she could buy a policy in Vermont, Pennsylvania or Delaware. For that matter, he or she could go online and purchase a policy anywhere in the country.

There'd be another benefit as well. Different states have different regulations and mandates that can dramatically affect insurance costs. New Jersey, for example, requires insurers to cover a wide range of procedures and care, including in-vitro fertilization, contraceptives, chiropodists and children until they reach age 25.

Those mandated benefits aren't cheap. To buy a standard health-insurance policy, a healthy 25-year-old man must pay five times as much in New Jersey as in Kentucky, which has far fewer mandates. Why shouldn't Jersey residents be free to decide whether those state mandates are worth the added cost, and buy a cheaper policy in Kentucky or elsewhere?

Ironically, one group has this ability today: big businesses. The federal ERISA law (the Employee Retirement Income Security Act) lets larger companies ignore state mandates and avoid uncompetitive state markets: They can create their own plans, and their employees can take that insurance anywhere in the country.

Thus, when Jerry Hairston Jr. is traded to the Yankees, he doesn't have to buy a new health policy in New York. But the Yankee fan who works for a small business, or buys insurance on his own, is stuck with high New York prices.

More competition in insurance markets would be a good thing. It would, as the president likes to say, "keep insurers honest." As it has with other goods and services, it would lead to lower prices and improved quality.

But true competition comes from expanding free markets, not from the heavy hand of government. If President Obama truly wants to give consumers more choices, that's a lesson he should heed.
